What Is Environmental Health?
Environmental health is the branch of public health focused on protecting people from environmental factors that can impact health and safety. Environmental health professionals work in a variety of disciplines, including food safety, drinking water protection, wastewater management, recreational water safety, vector control, housing, emergency preparedness, environmental protection, and public health education.
By identifying and addressing environmental risks before they become public health problems, environmental health professionals help create safer communities and healthier environments for all Nevadans.
